Interview with SVT’s Head of Events, Hala G. Asfar: Challenges, Sustainability and Future Trends in Event Management
In an exclusive interview with SVT’s Head of Events, we gain an insight into the most significant challenges and trends in event management, as well as how sustainability and safety are integrated into their in-person events.
What are the most significant challenges you face in your professional role?
Balancing creativity with budgetary constraints and logistical requirements is one of the biggest challenges, as is ensuring that we engage with and reach a wide audience across both physical and digital platforms.
How do you incorporate sustainability and safety into your in-person events?
We are actively working to reduce our environmental impact by using local suppliers, digital solutions for communication and ticketing, and environmentally friendly technology. Safety is our top priority, achieved through clear risk management guidelines and by following the latest health advice.
What trends do you see shaping the future of event management, particularly in a digital context?
The hybrid model, which combines physical and digital events, is a growing trend. Furthermore, I see an increased focus on interactivity and the personalisation of content to meet the audience’s expectations. AI and VR may also play an important role in the future.
Hala highlights several key aspects of modern event management. The balance between creativity and budget, the integration of sustainability and safety, and the trends shaping the future – such as hybrid models and new technologies – are some of the most important issues. It is clear that the industry is undergoing rapid development, and that those at the forefront are already working to integrate these changes into their operations.
