Stockholm Business Expo, which takes place on 19–20 February at Kistamässan, brings together Sweden’s most innovative companies. One of the nominees for ‘Rising Star of the Year’ is Jobbs, led by its visionary CEO Tobias Engelbrektsson. By combining innovation, entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to bring about change, Jobbs has made great strides forward. Tobias shares his journey, which has been full of both challenges and insights.
Challenges that have shaped leadership
For Tobias, the path to becoming an entrepreneur has not always been plain sailing. He describes how it can be a challenge to make difficult decisions, particularly in times of adversity.
– Having to make staff redundant is one of the most unpleasant aspects of being an entrepreneur. But sometimes it is necessary to ensure the company’s long-term survival. It’s a balance between rational decisions and the emotional impact, explains Tobias.
On a personal level, he has also juggled his career and family life.
– With three children, everyday life can be a full-time job in itself, but it’s something I think many people can relate to.
Successes that give you energy
Despite the challenges, it is the rewarding moments that drive Tobias forward. He describes how Jobbs’ idea has developed into a tangible platform offering secure and flexible solutions for unmanned environments.
– The most rewarding thing is seeing how our solution actually makes a difference to our customers. The fact that we’ve reached 28,000 registered users and achieved 100 per cent uptime shows that we’re delivering at the highest level.
He also highlights his co-founders as a crucial part of the company’s success.
– I really want to highlight Anders and Daniel as a crucial part of our success; they are incredibly talented. It is together that we are building this company, and surrounding yourself with the right people is one of the most important aspects of creating something successful.
Pride and joy in every step forward
Tobias is proud that Jobbs’ platform is revolutionising the way businesses operate in physical environments. From Skistar’s seamless mountain experiences to Folkpool’s round-the-clock access to products, their solution is proving its worth.
He also looks back on fun and educational experiences, such as pitching to investors.
– The process of raising capital wasn’t just a challenge, but also something I really enjoyed. It was a chance to really show what we stand for and where we’re heading.
Advice for the entrepreneurs of the future
Tobias also shares some valuable advice for those who dream of starting their own business:
-Have the courage to get started. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect – problem-solving is part of the journey.
-Find the right team. Surround yourself with people who complement you, both in terms of skills and energy.
-Think long term. Choose partners who can contribute more than just capital – experience and networks are just as valuable.
-Don’t forget to have fun. It’s in those inspiring and energising moments that you’ll find the motivation to carry on.
Jobbs, led by Tobias Engelbrektsson, is a shining example of how innovation and passion can lead to success. We wish them the best of luck in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ award at Stockholm Business Expo 2025 – where the companies of the future are shaped and celebrated.
